What is a Certificate of Analysis and How to Read One

What’s inside your CBD? And just as importantly, what is not?

Elixinol is dedicated to producing high-quality, effective and consistent CBD products. That is why we provide clear and detailed Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for all of our products. This document provides quality analysis information for each product batch, direct from third-party labs. We place each test result into one PDF for easy reference. You will know exactly what is in your Elixinol product, and what’s not. Simple, but effective.

What tests are included in the COA?

Our products undergo rigorous third-party testing by two separate labs: Botanacor Laboratories and Eurofins Food Integrity and Innovation. Botanacor analyzes the contents, the CBD potency and what other cannabinoids are present in the product. Eurofins tests the purity of the product.

Potency Tests

We want to make sure that we’re delivering consistent levels of CBD throughout the products we manufacture. Other cannabinoids, such as CBG, CBN, and CBC, are also in our products and this test will reveal exactly how much of those are present. It’s also critical that the THC level in each product is less than 0.3% in our full spectrum products and 0.0% in our broad-spectrum products.

Purity Tests

We also run numerous tests to check for product purity. Botanacor tests for microbial contaminants, and Eurofins will run six different tests to ensure quality. The list below represents the eight individual tests Elixinol executes on every product.

  • Potency (CBD potency/THC content/Other cannabinoids)
  • Microbial Contaminants (microbiological contamination such as yeast and molds)
  • Heavy Metals (Elements by ICP Mass Spectrometry)
  • Bile tolerant G-Bacteria (Enterobacteriaceae)
  • Glyphosate (Glyphosate and AMPA)
  • Mycotoxins (Mycotoxins in Raw Materials)
  • Pesticides (Multi-Residue Analysis for hemp products)
  • Residual Solvents (Residual Solvents Class 1, 2a, 2b, and 3)

We include the results of each test in the product COA. Elixinol goes far above industry standards to provide information about our products, including a 60+ panel of testing for pesticides and herbicides.
